St. Mary Catholic Community

This worship space, one of the first in Montana to integrate the Vatican II liturgy with its congregation, was built in the 1960’s.  Since then the congregation has expanded and more space was required.  In collaboration with Bill Brown, AIA, the building was remodeled respecting the structural elements of the original, and numerous spaces, both indoor and outdoor, were added.  The outdoor plaza provides a connection between the parish center and the church, as well as space for seasonal activities.  Work included the coordination of glass and wood artists as well as acoustical enhancement for a new pipe organ.

This building was featured in the February 2003 edition of  Environment Art Letter.
